Knife Party Leak ‘Resistance,’ Announce 10/27 Album Release

Australian DJ duo Knife Party delivered two goodies to fans the other day.

First, through a sly trick on Twitter, the pair leaked a new track called “Resistance,” which was also offered as a free download. The status link has now been erased, but the track is still available for a listen.

The high-energy electro-house number bangs from start to finish, though a valley found near the center of the track could be its peak, as it’s accented with playful, quirky synths as the tune builds back up to its thumping bass. Ever heard the phrase, “You call that a knife? This is a knife!” from Crocodile Dundee? Well, that sample serves as the sole vocal throughout the track. This one is guaranteed to be summoning dancers to the floor come the fall.

Speaking of the fall, specifically Oct. 27, look for surprise No. 2: Knife Party’s debut album, Abandon Ship. Any group that can go toe to toe with Swedish House Mafia, like they did with “Antidote,” is sure to deliver a brag-worthy collection of tunes.
