Deadmau5 To Release Remix Retrospective

Five Years of Mau5

Deadmau5 plans to release a retrospective titled Five Years of Mau5, but this isn’t your average greatest hits collection.

According to reports, Mau5 took to his members-only website to reveal the artwork — a mash-up of his previous albums’ covers — and announce the set is actually a remix EP.

What’s more, the Disney-embattled Canadian DJ has some top talent reworking his tunes. Eric PrydzNero, Madeon, Dillon Francis, and Pig and Dan were confirmed by Deadmau5, and it was pointed out Francis’ own remix of “Some Chords” was being played during TomorrowWorld, and that Pig and Dan had remixed tunes by Mau5’s alias, testpilot.

No release date has been announced for the project, and we’re still anxiously awaiting a tracklist and the names of other mix masters involved in the project.

Dillon Francis, Major Lazer & Stylo G Prove ‘We Make It Bounce’

Dillon Francis Major Lazer Stylo G We Make It Bounce

Dillon Francis insists — nay, commands! — you to “bounce to this shit” at his live shows. Of course he’s talking about his concoctions of moombahton-electro perfection, and he’s got a new one with some heavy-hitting guest stars.

“We Make It Bounce” features co-production from the Diplo-led Major Lazer crew and vocals from British reggae artist Stylo G.

It’s every bit the party you would expect from EDM’s elite. With Stylo G’s repetitive chants of “Girl, make it bounce,” the melody forces a sway of listeners’ hips with “bleep and blip” builds followed by steep drops of bass.

Contained in just a few short minutes, it’s a party-starting track that’s sure to find itself on mixtapes, mix CDs and SoundCloud showcases — and will appear on Francis’ forthcoming Money Sucks, Friends Rule album, out October 28. But if you preorder the album now, you’ll be immediately gifted with this instantly downloadable track. Happy partying!
